I saw her profile on and wrote her a short note. She replied, and we corresponded a couple of times, followed by a couple of telephone conversations. I was so impressed and intrigued that I suggested we meet, and she accepted.
We must have communicated no longer than two weeks before we actually met. The meeting took place on July 10th in Bucharest, Romania, halfway for both of us. We stayed with a friend of my family. The first few days we spent just getting to know each other, walking around the city and enjoying the lovely weather.
I was attracted to her from the moment I laid eyes on her; she took a little longer. By the fourth day together, we were inseparable and very much in-love, and I knew I didn't want to leave without her. Late that night, we deliberated over our possibilities, and after exhausting all options, I suggested we get married. We talked some more, and finally, at around 4am, she said yes.
I wanted to get married right away, before I had to go back to London, but neither of us thought it possible. I won't bore you with all the details, suffice to say that initially we were told we could, then were told we couldn't, and then, with only 4 days before we had to part, we managed to get approvals to marry. By now it was Wednesday, July 19th, and we had a deadline of 4pm to get to the registrar with all our documents to book ourselves in. We made it with only a couple of minutes to spare.
Both our respective families were waiting on standby for the green light and, needless to say, were very puzzled by our frenzy to get married after such a short space of time. In any case, on Thursday night my parents flew in from London. On Friday, July 21st, we were married at the registrar. On Saturday morning, her family arrived, and at 4pm, we went to the church for a full-blown religious ceremony.
Thanks for making it possible for us to meet. We are very happy. I hope others can find the happiness they seek...
